Our Beliefs
GOD: There is only one true and living God existing in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each a distinct Person, but are co-equal in nature, perfections, and attributes as one God. God is the sole Creator and Sustainer of the universe.(Genesis 1:1, 26; Jeremiah 10:10; Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19; John 1:3,10; Acts 17:24-25; 1 Peter 1:2; II Corinthians 13:14)
JESUS CHRIST: Jesus Christ was fully God in the flesh and fully man, was born of a virgin and He lived a sinless life while on Earth. He was crucified and died to pay the penalty for our sins. After three days in the grave He arose from the dead to conquer death and sin on our behalf. Forty days later, He ascended to Heaven at the Father’s right hand where He is the head of the Church and intercedes for believers. Faith in Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation. (Isaiah 7:14, 9:6; Hebrews 1:1-2, 7:25; Luke 1:30-35; Ephesians 4:8, 2:8; John 1:1-5,10-14, 3:16, 14:3,6; Romans 10:9; Colossians 2:9; I Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:3,11)
THE HOLY SPIRIT: The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world as the chief convictor of sin and comforter for every believer. He lives within every believer from the moment of salvation, baptizing them into the body of Christ. (Matthew 28:19; John 16:7-11; Acts 5:3-4; Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 12:12-14)
THE SCRIPTURE: The entire Bible is totally inspired by God. It is the supreme authority for Christian beliefs and living. It was written to all mankind by human authors under divine guidance of the Holy Spirit. (Psalm 19:7; II Peter 1:16-21; II Timothy 3:16-17)
MAN: Man was created in the image and likeness of God, but through Adam’s sin the race became alienated from God. As a result, all human beings are born into sin, are morally corrupt and deserve eternal punishment. Man is unable to fix their lost condition through his own efforts. (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 1:18, 3:23, 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3, 12)
SALVATION: An unmerited gift from God that is received by man through personal faith in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for sin. Man is justified by grace, through faith, apart from works. Upon accepting Jesus Christ as Savior, true believers are saved from eternal punishment in Hell and are secure in Christ forever with the promise of eternal life in Heaven with God. Salvation is wholly of the Lord and is kept through the grace and power of God alone. It is impossible for true believers to fall away from the State of Grace.(Acts 13:38-39; Romans 4:5, 6:23, 8:1,38-39; John 10:27-29, 14:16-17; I Corinthians 2:9-14; Ephesians 1:13, 2:8-9; I Peter 1:3-5; Jude 24-25) |
